One of the most valuable beauty lessons my mother taught me is to prioritize hair care. She says that hair is an extension of the face and reflects how well you care for your appearance and health. With those wise words engraved in my mind, I’ve always made sure that my hair care routine is as well curated and personalized as my skin care regimen.
I currently have color-treated copper hair. Since the chemical composition of my hair has changed, it behaves differently than undyed hair. The key to caring for color-treated hair is to steer clear of ingredients like sulfates, which are commonly found in many shampoos. While sulfates create a foamy lather, they also strip away natural oils from your scalp and hair, leading to dryness and further damage. Fortunately, my hair has endured all of that and remains manageable!
As my regular shampoo and hair mask are running out, I’m eager to try a new hair care line that will maintain my hair health while adding a delightful fragrance. From the many shampoos and conditioners available at YesStyle, I’m excited to discover GROWUS’s sulfate-free Damage Therapy hair care line. Continue reading as I share my experiences testing the Korean brand’s Damage Therapy Shampoo, Hair Cream Treatment and No-Wash Treatment!

GROWUS – Damage Therapy Shampoo
What it is: Containing seven types of collagen and five types of protein, this shampoo deeply moisturizes hair and restores its healthy shine. The high and low molecular protein polymeric technology (PPT) ingredients in the formula (including hydrolyzed collagen, keratin and amino acids) form a protective barrier on the hair surface whilst repairing damaged hair strands and improving their texture and resilience. The formula also contains salicylic acid, niacinamide and dexpanthenol for anti-hair loss benefits. Made with plant-based surfactants and free of sulfates, the shampoo is suitable for damaged hair and a sensitive scalp.
How to use: Apply a sufficient amount on damp hands, and gently lather and massage it into wet hair. Rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water.
My Notes:
- The shampoo has a lightweight, runny consistency. It lathers up when applied to wet hair but it took around 2-3 minutes to evenly apply and cleanse my hair. Make sure to massage it into scalp.
- The sweet and refreshing floral scent of the shampoo filled my shower, which created a calming experience!
- After rinsing, my hair felt silky as I ran my fingers effortlessly through my locks.
GROWUS – Damage Therapy Hair Cream Treatment
What it is: Complementing the Damage Therapy Shampoo, the Damage Therapy Hair Cream Treatment contains key ingredients including nutrient-rich Himalayan pink salt, mineral-packed pearl extract and a blend of proteins and collagens that provide deep nourishment for damaged and dry hair. Glycerin, coconut oil and ceramide NP enhance silkiness and shine of tresses. The cream-to-serum texture is formulated without silicone. It offers a sophisticated scent of Damask rose, petitgrain and blackcurrant.
How to use: After shampooing hair, apply a generous amount focusing on the middle and ends of hair and leave on for 3-5 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

My Notes:
- I expected the hair cream treatment to have a thick and bouncy consistency like a hair mask, but its lightweight and creamy texture resembles a hair conditioner.
- Upon application, my hair felt instantly nourished and smooth. When I ran my fingers through my hair, the strands didn’t tangle as much.
- I found the hair treatment’s strong rose fragrance slightly overpowering. However, I appreciate that the scent remained in my hair long after it dried completely.

GROWUS – Damage Therapy No-Wash Treatment EX
What it is: A more convenient alternative to the Damage Therapy Hair Cream Treatment, this no-wash treatment similarly contains Himalayan pink salt and pearl extract to repair damaged and frizzy hair back to a smoother and silkier state. There are also marine ingredients like sea water and ecklonia cava extract and plant-based oils like moringa oleifera seed oil and sunflower seed oil, which leave hair looking healthy and shiny.
How to use: Shake the hair treatment well before use. After shampooing, gently blot your hair with a towel before spraying the no-wash treatment onto slightly damp hair. Apply the product evenly throughout your hair and use your hands to help distribute thoroughly onto strands.
My Notes:
- The pearlescent swirls in the formula are truly mesmerizing! Make sure to shake well before spraying on your locks.
- The nozzle distributes the product evenly, and the texture is non-sticky. It didn’t leave my hair feeling greasy.
- Once again, the scent is invigorating, and I like that it’s more subtle than the Damage Therapy Hair Cream Treatment’s fragrance.
Overall Thoughts
I can confidently say that my hair feels silky smooth and appears healthier and shinier after my one-week trial of GROWUS’s Damage Therapy Shampoo, Hair Cream Treatment and No-Wash Treatment. My color-treated copper-red hair looks glossy and vibrant, and I’ve received numerous compliments on the scent as well.
While I initially thought the rose fragrance of the products was a bit too sweet and floral for my taste, it became subtler over time. I didn’t even need to apply perfume, which is one less step in my daily routine before heading out the door!
