Recently, the fashion world has witnessed the rise of fashion micro-trends with the suffix “core,” such as balletcore, cottagecore and gorpcore. Now “corpcore” is a trending fashion aesthetic!
Corpcore fashion juxtaposes the professional and polished vibes of 90s-style office attire with rebellious and edgy grunge elements. It blends sleek and streamlined details with bold twists to create corporate style with attitude.
Styling clothing to recreate this fashion trend is surprisingly effortless! In this installment of the Stylist Playlist, I’ve put together three distinct corpcore looks, each drawing inspiration from a catchy tune. Scroll on for some outfit inspiration!
“yes, and?” by Ariana Grande

For this outfit, I draw inspiration from Ariana Grande’s yes, and? music video where she wears a polished yet sexy body-hugging outfit while performing for a small group of invite-only guests. The ensemble I’ve put together strikes a balance between professional and fashionable styles while exuding sophistication.
I went with an off-shoulder top with an asymmetrical hem, and paired it with a high-waist pleated maxi skirt for a modern and chic look. Grungy touches like pointy and buckled stiletto mules and a faux leather shoulder bag add edge to the outfit.
For accessories, I incorporate a playful touch with an olive green ribbon choker. To up the smart vibes, finish with transparent oval-frame glasses that exude an air of professionalism.
“Can’t Tame Her” by Zara Larsson

Zara Larsson’s music often centers on empowering women, and her song Can’t Tame Her embodies this perfectly. In the music video, she confidently showcases a captivating black-and-white ensemble, which inspired me to create this ’fit that taps into the corpcore fashion trend.
Style a white crop button-up shirt with a tasteful midi slit skirt, and then toughen the look with a collared pleather zip jacket. For shoes, stomp with confidence in platform lace-up knee-high boots.
Instead of wearing necklaces, choose a black skinny necktie for a snazzy touch. As for hair, create a sleek hairstyle using metallic wavy hair clips. Store your everyday essentials in a roomy buckled faux leather crossbody bag. Lastly, put on black rectangle alloy sunglasses to complete the urban chic elements of your look.
“delulu” by Lexie Liu

While black and monochrome are key color palettes in the corpcore aesthetic, the trendy style can also be executed with patterns that lend a sense of formality and class. With that in mind, here is a corpcore outfit − similar to one of Lexie Liu’s ensembles in her delulu music video – that’s perfect for a party setting.
This plaid print halter crop top blending casual and classy vibes pairs well with wide-leg dress pants for a polished and well-coordinated ensemble. Showcase your fashion-forward side with pointed buckled high-heel short boots!
Enhance the chic ensemble with minimal jewelry in the form of silver and gold drop earrings. Wear big square frame eyeglasses to make a fun statement! As this is a night out ’fit, travel light with a top handle quilted bag, and secure your hair in an effortless up-do with a wavy hair claw.
