PONY EFFECT - Coverstay Cushion Foundation EX - 4 Colors

I’ve been searching for a matte cushion for a few years now and have tried many that claim many things. I’ve come to accept the perfect one does not exist, I just cannot have a cushion foundation that it’s for combo/normal-oily skin. Usually i would need to touch up my t-zone around 4/5hours in, and that’s with a matte liquid foundation. With this cushion my skin just looks smooth as airbrushed. I don’t really sent my cheeks with powder and it stays perfect all days. However I do powder my nose only and I went 8 hours without having to blot. And that says something about this CUSHION. I’m ordering more!

I was skeptical about buying PONY EFFECT again after having lackluster experiences with her color makeup products, but this cushion foundation is a new favorite! The tan shade suits my face perfectly without making it look too ashy or too yellow. Furthermore, the hydrating formula offers my combination skin medium to high coverage with a natural, dewy, long-lasting finish; it’s buildable, not cakey, and wears as well as wears off beautifully throughout the day, which I appreciate.

Pros:
-good color selection for light to light-medium skin
-hydrating, long-lasting formula without white cast
-medium to full coverage that doesn’t emphasize texture
-layers well when building coverage up and touching up throughout the day
-applicator feels dense and more expensive, and it picks up and spreads product very evenly

Cons:
-fingerprint marks are obvious when handling the shiny gold cushion component
-foundation has a strong floral scent and takes a really long time to dry down, especially on the T-zone
-not a matte finished as promised, at least on my skin, but can be remedied by using primer, powder, and setting spray

covers acne and scars * I have acne-prone skin I use it when I want full coverage, good product I recommend it.

This cushion has natural looking coverage that is very buildable and wears nicely throughout the day. I don’t use powder over it because I find that it really dries out my skin. Without powder it gives a dewy look, but my skin is pretty shiny already, so if you have less shiny skin or use powder it will likely show up more matte. Personally, I find that it looks more natural without powder and I don’t mind having more glowy makeup.

If your skin is on the drier side, this foundation may dry you out after wearing it all day. I don’t wear makeup often, so it’s not a huge deal for me, and something I have experienced with almost every foundation I’ve ever used, so I don’t think this product specifically is any worse than others.

I got the #001 Rosy Ivory shade and the color is almost perfect for my skin. I am very fair and will usually have trouble finding western makeup that is light enough or doesn’t have a orange or grey/white tone. If you usually wear a “porcelain” color, I recommend the Rosy Ivory.

The product arrived quick and the quality is very good with soft texture and blending very well to the skin. It's not cakery even though my skin is dry.

this foundation is perfect!!! you only need a little bit of it on your applicator for a really solid cover and it’s a good price especially since it comes with a refill.

The packaging was SO cute, all gold and super glam. The cushion had a lot of product in it (dont need to push too hard to get it out, and a little goes a long way). The sponge was also superb in texture. I unfortunately got the wrong shade and had to give it to my sister but I am planning to try a different color to see if I get it right this time. LOVE the formula. I also bought the moonshot cushion and there was definitely less product in the cushion, and the sponge is definitely NOT as nice. I am only using the moonshot cushion right now because it matches my skin tone, but definitely want to move to this when I get my color match right.

It really is as what is described. Good coverage and dewy looking. Lasts a long time too.

This is my third cushion I have bought from Pony. All different cushions from the same brand but Pony never disappoints in my opinion. coverage is great and I love that they cater for slightly darker asian skin tones. Skin texture looks great with this cushion!

I am usually a solid shade 23 with all my other pony effect cushions. I got Tan 004 for this and it is too warm for my skin tone. so if you’re usually border 23 on the darker side, you’ll be safe on Tan. but if you’re on the lighter side and any darker will be unnatural, go for Nude beige 003. you. an definitely tell in the photo the cushion shade does not match my neck. and it’s coverage is FULLL. it’s very comfortable to wear and I think I’ll get another 003 so I can mix and match during summer.
