my morning go-to
February 27, 2021
Consistency: Extremely watery in consistency so it comes with one of those metal balls inside to shake before each use. Goes on the skin extremely easily. Spreads/applies evenly and quickly so you don't have to spend more than a minute getting this on and heading out.
Cast: Very very minimal with the three or four finger method. I have a light-medium skin tone but do notice the very minimal cast on me. This isn't a problem for me much as I'm indoors anyway, and wear makeup whenever I do go out. It's not noticeable for me at all after applying makeup.
Wear: It wears dewy and silicone-y on my skin. (My skin concerns: oily, very dehydrated, acne-prone, reactive). After a couple hours, the sunscreen feels moisturizing to the touch, but it also feels like how an almost mattifying product feels?? I still look dewy, it just feels slightly velvety? Also, over time, I found that if I did not put enough moisturizer on beforehand, I'd notice my face would feel a bit dehydrated by the end of the day - it was very slight, but not intolerable like some other sunscreens I've tried. I don't think this was a moisturizing or hydrating sunblock, but it felt easy to wear.
Under makeup: I couldn't tell what it did to my makeup honestly, but I don't think it performed badly at all. I wouldn't use this as a primer though. And I don't recommend this for reapplication. The cast will reappear and the makeup will budge, or even get remove completely.
Price point: Great. Would easily repurchase and continue to use.
Overall, after around 3 weeks of wearing it every day, I really enjoy it especially because of how fast the application process is with it. I didn't have any reactions wearing this and I like the combination of physical and chemical filters - zinc oxide, octinoxate, and Uvinul A Plus. So you do get broad spectrum with this, but if you don't like products with parabens, silicones, or fragrances, this might not be one. Other than that, I highly recommend giving it a try!
