YesStyle is collaborating with Korean skin care brand Secret Key<\/strong><\/a> to bring you an exclusive beauty box called the Instant Brightening Kit<\/a>. This box includes four products that promise to revitalize and brighten skin, and make it glow from the inside out.<\/p>\n I\u2019m a sucker for anything citrus-scented and find the light lemon scent of the Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel<\/a> refreshing. The lemon water, lemon extracts and carbonated water in the gel work together to bring various benefits to the skin. The citric acid removes dead skin cells while Vitamin C nourishes and brightens the overall complexion. The carbonated water helps get rid of gunk and excess sebum from pores and enhances skin elasticity.<\/p>\n There are plenty of other benefits to this peeling gel. It \u00a0gently exfoliates while moisturizing and calming skin. The gel contains plant extracts from Centella<\/a>, aloe, witch hazel and chamomile \u2013 all of which are great for soothing sensitive skin. It\u2019s also suitable for other skin types including dull, dry and oily types.<\/p>\n The peeling gel comes in a tube that’s easy and convenient to use. After cleansing my face, I gently massage the gel all over my skin, avoiding the eye and lip areas, for about a minute until tiny clumps start to form. With just the first use, I instantly noticed that my skin felt softer and some of my rough patches were smoother. I also noticed a slight brightness in my overall complexion.<\/p>\n It\u2019s recommended to use this peeling gel once or twice a week but you can adjust the frequency depending on your skin type. For dry or sensitive skin, I\u2019d limit use to once a week as over-exfoliating will only give you even drier and more irritated skin. The Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel has also received a ton of positive reviews<\/a> from YesStyle customers, so it’s worth a try!<\/p>\n Some people might have second thoughts about using essences because they don\u2019t deliver immediate results. But, while you may not see an instant difference, facial essences can travel deep beneath your skin to restore its balance as well as improve overall texture in the long run. Apply essence post-cleansing and toning to prep your skin for the rest of the products you’ll slather on, including serum, ampoule and moisturizer.<\/p>\n The Starting Treatment Essence (Rose Edition)<\/a> is formulated with rose water and contains 94% of Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, which is a moisturizing ingredient that also protects the skin from damage. The essence claims to put your skin in its best possible condition by reducing fine lines and wrinkles, refining skin tone, brightening, improving elasticity, soothing, hydrating, controlling oil and exfoliating. It\u2019s also delicate enough for sensitive skin types as it\u2019s free from ten harmful ingredients, namely paraben, animal oil, benzophenone, artificial fragrance, artificial coloring, triethanolamine, mineral oil, phenoxyethanol, alcohol and sulfate.<\/p>\n Using this essence is straightforward: Pour a sufficient amount onto a cotton pad and gently wipe it across your face. All essences have different consistencies and this one pretty much looks and feels like water. Since it\u2019s not thick, my skin drinks it up quickly, and if I apply too much, I simply pat the remaining essence in until it’s fully absorbed.<\/p>\n I have combination skin, with an oily T-zone and dryness around the cheeks. One thing I’ve noticed, after using the essence both day and night, is how my skin feels more hydrated and the redness from my blemishes has reduced.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve only recently started incorporating eye patch masks into my skin care routine, and I regret that I didn’t do it sooner! Aside from using serums and creams, you can give your eyes some extra attention with masks like the Gold Premium First Eye Patch<\/a>. The tub contains 60 patches, each packed with hyaluronic acid, diamond powder and 24K pure gold extract.<\/p>\n These gold-infused hydrogel patches are formulated with natural skin-loving ingredients including aloe vera, green tea, seaweed and chamomile, as well as pomegranate extracts to provide a soothing effect. They provide your eye areas with extra hydration, boost elasticity and keep the delicate skin around your eyes firm. Bon voyage to dark circles and under eye wrinkles!<\/p>\n Since the eye patches have a gel-like texture, they can be quite slippery to grab using just your hands. Luckily, the product comes with a spatula that helps scoop out each patch with ease. They adhere to your under eye area perfectly so you can multi-task while having them on. I prefer to use the time to get some quick shut-eye \u2013 which makes for an even more relaxing experience. The gold component makes it feel extra luxurious!<\/p>\n I leave the patches on for about 20 minutes to let my skin fully absorb the nutrients. You can leave them on for up to 30 minutes, if you choose. After removing the patches, gently pat the remaining essence into your skin before moving on to your next product.<\/p>\n I\u2019m fortunate enough to not have serious dark circles (yet) but using these on days when I don\u2019t get sufficient rest really helps to perk up my tired eyes. Even if your eye wrinkles aren\u2019t visible yet, it\u2019s worthwhile to add these to your daily routine. After all, prevention is key!<\/p>\n The last product in the Instant Brightening Kit is the Snow White Cream<\/a>. From the name itself, you may have guessed its main benefit: whitening. The cream is formulated with pearl extract and vitamins to brighten overall complexion, and its main component is niacinamide, which is certified by Korea\u2019s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as a mild skin whitening ingredient that improves a dull complexion and reduces redness.<\/p>\n I normally avoid whitening products as whitening is not my main goal when it comes to skin care, and I initially thought that this cream would do just that. But, while it does whiten skin, it doesn\u2019t offer long-term effects. The Snow White Cream acts as a base to reveal skin\u2019s radiance as well as lessen redness and discoloration.<\/p>\n Overall, I found that this cream wasn\u2019t that moisturizing but it works great as a makeup base. The only drawback for me is that it leaves a white cast on my tan skin, which isn\u2019t ideal when applying makeup over it (though I don\u2019t think fairer skin types will find this to be an issue).
