Simple Ways to De-Stress Your Mind, Body and Skin

These past few months have been tough for everyone due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Self-isolating and practicing social distancing have changed the way we live our day-to-day lives and this can take a toll on our stress levels. Stress affects your body and skin, and most importantly, your mental health. To get through these stressful times, it’s even more important to find time every day to unwind. Here are some simple waysI follow to de-stress my mind, body and skin.

I’m guilty of constantly reading news articles to stay updated with the virus crisis. While it’s all right to tune in to the news from time to time, it’s not healthy to do so 24/7. One way to de-stress your mind is to find a hobby. Doing something that you enjoy is a great way to distract yourself from the craziness and it helps reduce your stress levels. Try reading a book, starting a daily journal, painting or even doing DIY projects. 

Another great way to reduce your stress levels is by staying active. Exercising daily always puts me in a better mood so I try and schedule a workout at least once a day. Most gyms may be closed but you can always workout at home or jog around your neighborhood.

Finally, getting enough shut-eye is an easy way to relieve stress. A good night’s sleep can help you be less anxious and help you cope with stress better throughout the day. If you have trouble sleeping, try it with an eye mask to help you drift off easier. 


To de-stress your body, try taking a hot bath right before bed. A hot bath helps relax your muscles and will also help you fall asleep much quicker. Plus, incorporating more healthy foods into your diet  keeps your skin young, healthy and blemish-free
