Limese is a cruelty-free Korean skin care brand that follows the philosophy that “beauty should be fun” and this definitely shows on its Instagram feed. I first came across Limese on Instagram and immediately fell in love with its fun and carefree aesthetics.
Using only naturally derived ingredients, Limese’s skin care products claim to be gentle, lightweight and good for everyday use. I’ve had my eyes on its ampoules for a while now and I finally got to try them plus the SuperTasker Cream! Read on for my review:
Key ingredients: Niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, aminopropyl ascorbyl phosphate & caprylyl glycol
Main benefits: Provides hydration, helps fade pigmentation and brightens skin
Key ingredients: Niacinamide, raspberry leaf extracts, ceramide
Main benefits: Strengthens the skin barrier and protects skin from harsh environments
Key ingredients: Niacinamide & schizophyllan
Main benefits: Protects skin from external aggressors
While each ampoule provides different benefits, they all have one key ingredient in common – niacinamide. This is one of my favorite skin care ingredients as it tackles my main skin concerns, which include hyperpigmentation, acne and dullness.
I was expecting the texture of all three ampoules to be thick or sticky but it was the opposite! I love that it has an extremely lightweight consistency that somehow feels like water, which makes them perfect for layering during warmer weather. I usually apply about 3-4 drops of the ampoules before my moisturizer and my skin drinks it up instantly.
They also claim to be great for all skin types including sensitive skin. Using products that are created to suit sensitive skin types is a major plus for me, as I don’t want to worry about a major breakout. I’m glad none of the ampoules made me break out.
If I had to pick one ampoule that I favor more, it’d be the Brightening Ampoule simply because I noticed that it gave me the fastest results. I have quite a few pigmented acne scars around my cheeks and I’ve yet to find a product that helps lighten them. I was surprised that this ampoule not only helped in fading my scars, but also brightened my overall skin tone after just a week of use.
I wouldn’t say I have a damaged skin barrier but it’s not exactly at its healthiest state (yet). While my moisture barrier is still recovering, I like pairing the Energizing and Purifying Ampoules together to help strengthen it further. Though it’s hard to see any big changes or improvements, I like the fact that they’re gentle and don’t irritate my sensitive skin. They’re also light enough to use simultaneously during my night time regimen.
A skin care routine is never complete without a moisturizer, and the SuperTasker Cream is the perfect partner for all three ampoules.
Like the ampoules, the SuperTasker Cream is also formulated with niacinamide to help with hyperpigmentation. It also contains adenosine to help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, aminopropyl ascorbyl phosphate for brightening benefits, and beta-glucan to help maintain a healthy skin barrier.
The cream has a very light texture that doesn’t leave a greasy finish so I apply it both day and night. It’s great at soothing and hydrating my skin, but I’m not a big fan of the fragrance. It’s formulated with lavender and macadamia seed oil. Even though I love lavender, the scent is a bit too strong for my liking and I prefer my products unscented.
Overall, the Limese ampoules and cream make great additions to my daily skin care regimen and, of course, my vanity. If your main goal is to get a brighter complexion and to get rid of hyperpigmentation, I recommend going for the Brightening Ampoule paired with the SuperTasker Cream. Those with a damaged skin barrier should definitely go for the combination of the Energizing and Purifying Ampoules, followed by the cream.
