Hyojong, also known as E’Dawn, debuted as a rapper for boy band Pentagon in 2016. Hyuna has been active since 2007 and is a big name in the K-pop industry. She first debuted with Wonder Girls, and then moved on to become a member of 4Minute. Both are also former members of the group Triple-H and are now pursuing solo careers.
Power couples are a rarity in the K-pop industry. Hyojong and Hyuna both share unique and eye-catching aesthetics that are well documented on their Instagram feeds. The couple recently signed under PSY’s newly founded agency, P Nation. Hyuna previously featured in PSY’s Gangnam Style music video back in 2012 and it’s exciting to see what the future holds for the singers!
You can’t go wrong with matching tees! With a vibrant orange shade for Hyuna and a cool blue grey for Hyojong, these comfortable oversized pieces perfectly encapsulate their laid-back styles. The street-style touches of bellow pockets, drawcords and contrasting hems showcase their eye for detail. Both tend to wear figure-hugging outfits for performances and red carpet looks but go for a more relaxed look on casual days.
I’ve chosen denim shorts to showcase Hyuna’s gams while Hyojong’s outfit continues the relaxed look with loose-fit tattersall trousers. The printed trousers contrast the solid tones of the tops while Hyuna’s shorts bring in her signature sexy vibes. With the outfits being so colorful, it’s important to bring in darker colors and basic pieces as well.
Seoul is a hot spot for the trendiest street styles so it’s no wonder that the trendiest couple in the K-pop scene is almost always wearing chunky dad sneakers! The matching sneakers are designed with fun color-blocking that complements the vibrant outfits.
Hyuna and Hyojong subscribe to the e-girl and e-boy aesthetics so their looks wouldn’t be complete without eye-catching socks. I’ve swapped the colors of their tops for the socks: Hyuna sports baby blue socks while Hyojong wears a vibrant mustard pair.
Continuing with the blue and orange color scheme, I’ve accessorized the couple with their staple items. Hyojong has an orange bucket hat to match Hyuna’s orange top. Meanwhile, her crossbody bag brings in a cobalt blue design highlighted with lettering and splashes of red. There’s a reason why one of Hyuna’s singles is titled RED – it’s one of her favorite colors!
If you don’t want to wear the exact same items as your bae, it’s a good idea to borrow certain pops of color from their outfit to create a cohesive couple look!
Like many couples, Hyuna and Hyojong love wearing matching androgynous jewelry. Again, I’ve gone for items that are not exactly the same. The chain necklaces share similar attributes such as a semi-layered look and heart motifs. The dangling earrings also feature the same grunge details of safety pins, padlocks, and keys, all accentuated by an asymmetric arrangement.
Since the idols are famous for their edgy looks, I’ve added nail bracelets so they can literally look “tough as nails.”
