10 Resort Vacation Looks that Also Work Every Day

Summer is the season of island getaways and nights out. I’ve been daydreaming about taking a tropical vacation, lying on the beach and jumping into the pool. My urge only gets stronger as I compile this list.

The following resort pieces scream out “holiday clothes,” and they’re all I want to wear this season. From minimalist silhouettes and crowd-pleasing florals to classic patterns, these breezy and versatile separates can easily be mixed and matched all summer long!

1. Short-Sleeved Shirtdress with Side Slit from StyleonmeStyleonme - Short-Sleeved Shirtdress with Side Slit

The navy shade of this shirtdress looks fresh for summer, and the cut is flattering and easy to wear. The minimalist silhouette nips in at the waist and flows comfortably over the hips. The side slit is a sweet touch to the smart silhouette so it won’t feel stuffy.

2. Sheer White Midi Dress with Crochet Detail from PPGIRLPPGIRL - Sheer White Midi Dress with Crochet Detail

I’m all about the little white dress when on vacation – it’s my warm-weather BFF. The crochet bodice and flouncy sheer skirt of this one make me feel like a princess, while the palette easily matches with any shoes or jackets. I expect to rock this sundress on the beach with strappy sandals ahead of a night out.

3. Jumpsuit in Scarf Print from PPGIRLPPGIRL - Jumpsuit in Scarf Print

This jumpsuit will be the first thing I pack for vacation. It fits in everywhere, from scenic cities to relaxing beaches. The dreamy scarf print smashes my minimalist mood in all its color-clashing glory, while the flowing silhouette is equally show-stopping.

mimi&didi - Gingham Off-Shoulder Crop Top

I can’t wait to make this shoulder-baring flouncy top part of my summer uniform! It’s perfect with white pants or a cute wrap skirt on the weekends. The sweet pink gingham print is so eye-catching. It definitely beats all those simple tanks in my wardrobe.

5. Denim Jacket with Fray Detail from LIPHOPLIPHOP - Denim Jacket with Fray Detail

Even when I’m heading somewhere hot for the holiday, I’d still bring a light jacket with me. It’s just the perfect topper to pack, as it works as well over a swimsuit as it does as a cover-up on cooler evenings. Thrown over the shoulder or tied around the waist, it adds oomph to any look.

6. Shirred Floral Bathing Suit from UPTOWNHOLICUPTOWNHOLIC - Shirred Floral Bathing Suit

If I’m going to hang around the pool all day, this flattering one-piece darling would be all I need. Painterly florals fit in with the sweetheart bathing suit. It comes with removable shoulder straps that make it more versatile. An added bonus is that it easily doubles as a bodysuit for weekends in the city!

7. Print Shorts with Sash from DABAGIRLDABAGIRL - Print Shorts with Sash

These slick floral shorts feel so feminine and look like a skirt without the added stress of worrying if you’ll be caught in a windy situation. The colorful print and contrasting sash elevate the simple silhouette. I just can’t wait to wear it to brunch with a crisp button-down and matching sandals.

8. Wrap Skirt in Scarf Print from DABAGIRLDABAGIRL - Wrap Skirt in Scarf Print

There’s always room for a good skirt in the suitcase, and I tend to gravitate towards flowing silhouettes and busy prints. Just imagine how good this wrap midi will look with a simple crop top or sexy bodysuit!

9. Bandana Headband from DABAGIRLDABAGIRL - Bandana Headband

An outfit is not complete until it’s accessorized. A bandana headband always makes a bold statement. This tropical-colored one is so fun and easy to style. It’s the perfect finishing touch to top everything off.

10. Muted Square-Toe Flat Sandals from UPTOWNHOLICUPTOWNHOLIC - Muted Square-Toe Flat Sandals

A vacation outfit checklist can’t do without some easy-walking sandals in a neutral shade to ground and complement your look. I’m obsessed with the on-trend square toe and woven strap detail on these slides. I have a feeling that I’ll get the most wear out of this pair for months to come.
