moonshot Soft Glam Must-Haves Box Review

The YesStyle Beauty Lab

Embracing natural beauty continues to be on the rise so I’m trying to keep my spring and summer makeup bag as minimal as possible, keeping only the essentials. My current makeup collection is filled with soft but vibrant colors and light coverages to help me achieve simple everyday looks.

All four products from the moonshot Soft Glam Must-Haves Box seemed like great additions that would complement my current makeup routine so I decided to give them a go. Read on for my review on all the products, including a makeup primer, cushion foundation, eye shadow and liquid lip stain.

Multi Protection UV Fixer SPF50+ PA+++

I rarely apply makeup without primer because without it, I wouldn’t have a smooth canvas for my foundation to cling to. One primer is normally enough for me to use all year round but I recently branched out to using a few different ones for more benefits. The latest one I added to my collection is the Multi Protection UV Fixer. This primer claims to minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines, even out overall skin tone and protect skin from sun damage with its added SPF.

The primer has a pink hue and its scent kind of reminds me of baby powder, which I don’t mind. Since it’s formulated with SPF, I was expecting it to be a lot thicker than it actually was. Thankfully, it feels really lightweight on my skin which means it’ll stay in my makeup bag throughout the summer!

Aside from blurring my pores and helping my makeup last longer, the primer’s pink hue also helps in evening out my complexion and gives it a bit of a glow. For those who are strapped for time every morning, this is the ideal primer for you as it already has SPF50+ so you don’t have to add an extra layer of sunscreen.

Micro Setting Fit Cushion SPF50+ PA+++

I’ve always wanted to try cushion foundations but all Korean brands I’ve come across don’t carry darker shades that suit my medium to tan skin tone.

The moonshot Soft Glam Must-Haves Box comes with a Micro Setting Fit Cushion and you can choose between three shades including #101 Ivory, #201 Beige and #301 Honey. Of course, I went for the darkest shade possible which was #301 Honey. Unfortunately, it wasn’t dark enough for me.

As you can see from the photo above, the cushion appears much lighter on my skin tone. Despite the cushion having great coverage, I don’t see myself wearing this as I prefer my base makeup to mimic my skin tone and look natural. The texture is great for summer though; it’s lightweight and dries down to a matte finish but leaves your skin looking radiant and hydrated.

Jelly Pot (Stone Pillow)

The Jelly Pot’s texture really does feel very jelly-like which makes it really fun to apply! It’s available in three variations including matte, pearl and glitter. From the moonshot box, you’ll receive one in Pearl in the shade Stone Pillow, which has a shimmery orange hue.

I initially attempted to apply the eye shadow with a brush but since its texture wasn’t very powdery, it was harder to pick up the pigment that way and I opted to apply it with my fingers instead. The texture was really smooth, making it easy to apply. Eye shadow fallout is a real deal-breaker for me so I’m glad the Jelly Pot has no fallout! The color also managed to stay put all day without creasing, although I recommend applying an eye primer beforehand just in case, especially if you have monolids like I do.

Cream Paint Stain Fit Fancy Stain (Chili Chestnut)

The last makeup item in the box is moonshot’s Cream Paint Stain Fit Fancy Stain in the shade Chilli Chestnut. My lips are naturally pigmented so before applying the Cream Paint Stain Fit Fancy Stain, I dabbed on a bit of lip concealer from innisfree to make the color really pop.

The color is described as a rose-chilli brown and it looks like a deep orange on my lips. I like how it glides on smoothly and dries matte without feeling dry. It also feels really light and comfortable to wear, as if I’m not wearing any lipstick. Just like the primer, it’s definitely a must-have lippie for the hotter months. As for its lasting power, the color only started fading a little after six hours of wear which is quite good considering the fact that I had breakfast and lunch with the lip stain on. I’m not a fan of orange in general but I think this is an easy color to pull off whether it’s for a day or night look.

If you’re after a simple and natural makeup look with subtle pops of color this spring and summer, moonshot’s Soft Glam Must-Haves Box is definitely a must-have! Feel free to mix and match all four items with other products like eyeliner, mascara or blush for a complete makeup look.
