I bet you already have a few signature summer outfits, like a simple wide-leg jumpsuit, a go-to wrap dress or a trusty tank-and-jean shorts combo. It’s always a good time to mix and match these existing hot weather staples in your wardrobe.
That being said, I’d still like to toss in a few brightly-colored looks that’ll take you into fall. About half of the items here will work when it’s still hot, while the others are perfect once it cools down a bit. And sorry gals, black didn’t make the list.
1. Red Dress with Puff Sleeves and Belt from DABAGIRL
Fiery but not angry, this shoulder-baring dress makes sure you get noticed. The ruching and coordinated belt are flattering, while the flared skirt keeps things simple at the bottom. Just like how you’d team black heels with an LBD, why not do the same but with red?
2. Orange Color-Block Tank Dress from DABAGIRL
I think many of us can count on one hand the number of orange pieces we own (I have one, if shopper bags count). But you’re invited to expand your palette with this effortless tank dress accented with bright traffic-cone orange panels. Isn’t this slick style a proof that orange can stay beyond Halloween?
3. Gingham High-Waist Midi Skirt from MASANDCHRIS
A high-waist midi skirt might be the essential I didn’t know I was missing. The silhouette is polished and flattering, and the staple is reinvented every season to keep things fresh. This gingham edition screams prep-school vibes. Balance the jaunty hue with black separates for your next day date!
4. Yellow Pencil Skirt with Matching Chunky Belt from LIPHOP
One of my favorite ways to wear mustard yellow is with demure and sleek tailoring. This belted midi skirt is right up my alley. Given the clean lines and slim fit, it would work well with anything from sneakers to boots and heels. Even if this were the only yellow item in my wardrobe, I wouldn’t worry about it.
5. Lavender Floral Blouse from Envy Look
With ruffles, cold shoulder, florals and this season’s hottest lavender hue, this flirty top needs just a solid staple to pair with. Try ripped jeans or a fitted white midi skirt.
6. Ruched Navy Dress with Gold Straps from UUZONE
Ruched dresses have been trending for a while – probably because of the way they hug your curves and flatter your body. They also elongate the frame and achieve high-fashion style with the right accessories. This navy blue darling is crowned with gold-chain shoulder straps for that purpose.
7. Frilled Wrap Top in Bright Florals from MyFiona
Complete with bright hues and eye-catching florals, this flirty wrap-style top is a great statement piece to dress up casual jeans for the weekend or midi skirts for brunch. All you need is a pair of ankle boots to finish the semi-dressy look.
8. Linen Blend Belted Blazer from LOLOten
A light and tailored blazer feels fresh over crop tops and jeans when the temps come down a bit. It’s also a favorite layer to edge up sundresses. The pastel hue means it’ll transition easily through seasons and work well with neutrals. You can also go all in by teaming it with a pink dress. Going monochrome means you won’t have to worry about what matches what.
9. Pink Tasseled Fringed Heels from DANI LOVE
Shoes are always a good starting point when you want to turn heads. These tasseled heels, coming in fun colors like this bubblegum pink option, will surely be the focal point of your going-out looks. A bubbly spirit guaranteed!
10. Point-Toe Flats with Ruching from LIPHOP
These point-toe mules are for when you need a new pair of statement shoes to wear every day with ripped jeans. They come in a variety of poppy hues, even polka dots. Stay on-trend with the ruching and give your feet a break!
