How to Accessorize Like a Korean Celeb

One of the easiest ways to dress like a chic Korean celebrity is to accessorize. K-pop stars have become trendsetters using iconic accessories like baseballs caps, printed canvas belts and chain earrings. Let’s learn from them!

For the Head

One Korean brand to look for is chuu, which just launched some cute and nostalgic bonnets and raffia hats as part of its summer collection. If you’re into street style, try this twill cap embroidered with the Korean “heart” gesture, or this brimless plaid cap with long straps at the back, resembling one worn by rapper RM. For those who don’t want hats, a floral head band is a fun and feminine way to keep your hair away from your face.

For the Eyes

Small wire frames and orange shades are big this summer, as are triangular cat eyes. But if you prefer oversized lenses, there are still chic ones out there, such as this double-bridge version, or frames made from a combination of metal and plastic.

For the Ears

Typography is popular in Korea, and can appear on anything from caps and clothes to belts and earrings. A pair of nylon-strap earrings printed with bold contrast-color words can take you far this season. Hoop earrings are still cool, especially those with a literal twist, but chain earrings like the ones worn by G Dragon and BTS are what you should really invest in.

For the Waist

To look like a hipster from Seoul, go for a wordy nylon belt with double D-ring buckles, or a transparent one with thick metal grommets.

For the Feet

Mules and statement heels are in this season. Look for stylish updates like color blocking, a buckled strap at the instep, or a transparent PVC upper. There are also slingbacks that can be converted into Mary Janes by simply sliding the straps forward. Last but not least, owning a pair of woven slides won’t hurt because it’s summer!
