10 Wearable Trends to Shop for 2018

Summer fashion

Can you believe it’s already December? Trends emerging for the New Year have got me incredibly excited. A new year means new resolutions that may or may not be fulfilled. One thing I can commit to is clearing plenty of space in the closet (to be honest, I will need ideas on upcycling and repurposing old clothes) and stocking up on the hottest clothes. This list is here to help rebuild your closet!

1. Velvet Wrap Top from UUZONE

There’s been a serious velvet obsession going around, and with good reason. Styled with low-key companions, this pretty fabric elevates any look. If you’re looking for a cute top for winter, this wrap top is an incredibly flattering option to snatch up ASAP. It’ll pair well with skinnies and dark midis.

2. Frilled Linen Midi Dress from STYLEBYYAM

The latest in fashion seems to favor a feminine, romantic but modern mood in the form of fine prints, diaphanous fabrics and billowy sleeves. This dress is perfect for lunch dates thanks to its fresh white color and flattering ruffled sleeves. It can be dressed up with heels and a clutch, or down with sneakers for a laidback look.

3. Chunky Sweater in Lavender Color from Cherryville

Here’s to a sweeter and bolder 2018! Lavender is the spring color I need and love. The simplest way to wear the color is with a cozy chunky knit. Pair with neutrals for an on-trend look that’s completely effortless and wearable.

4. High-Waist Paperbag Skinny Pants from UUZONE

Nothing gets more polished and flattering than high-rise styles. I’m glad 2018 has shown an affinity for high-waist designs. When in doubt styling this slim-fit pair, simply tuck in a shirt and go. The zipper gives it just the right amount of edge, tempered by the ruffled waistline.

5. Plaid Wrap Skirt from DDADDADDA

Plaid is about to be big in 2018. The classic pattern gets revisited and refined from time to time, sometimes with sleeker cuts or mixed patterns. It makes me want to pull out my old school uniforms, or get a cute plaid skirt like this one for a refreshing update.

6. Cropped Trench Coat with Cuff Bows from J-ANN

From frilled to sleeveless, trench coats have appeared in many forms over the last couple of months. If you have a trench, hold onto it. If you don’t, get one that’s been treated to this season’s updates – because even the classics need a refresh sometimes. Case in point: this cropped design in a versatile navy blue. Lightweight and versatile, this coat can be paired with essentially anything. Have fun with it!

7. Fringed Midi Skirt from ERANZI

Are you also falling in love with the excessive amount of fringe seen on the high street and runways? No worries about going full-on flapper here. One easy way to play up this fun detail is with a plain white midi, styled with slick separates, for a perfect office look.

8. Sheer Patterned Tights from DABAGIRL

Tights can come in handy. They elongate legs when paired with heels, and are perfect for covering up skin when you want to wear skirts or dresses in dropping temps. Just look at these French girl-approved sheer tights! Wear them under ripped jeans so the pattern peeps out, or beneath a chunky sweater dress to keep the look interesting.

9. Wire-Rim Pastel-Lens Sunnies from GIMMAX

Next year’s eyewear is moving towards thinner frames, and pastel mirrored lenses are the look of the moment. I’m excited to introduce these azure (or millennial pink, I still haven’t decided) sunnies that tick all the style boxes, but still in an everyday fit that allows them to accessorize the most casual of looks.

10. Athleisure Sneakers from JUSTONE
Fashion sneakers are so ubiquitous that I suspect more sneakers are bought for lifestyle than performance these days. Stick to classic styles and colors like these two-tone toe-cap kicks. Instead of going through all that trouble to match the colors of your shoes and outfits, a fresh white pair like this one assures effortless style.
