Channel Your Inner Off-Duty Model with These 10 Pieces

Summer fashion

Quietly we are nearing the end of summer. These days I’ve begun to feel the crisp breeze that screams: Girl, you need to rethink your wardrobe. It is important for me to have a capsule collection with versatile pieces for casual office days, both laidback and dressy weekends, and the occasional formal meetings. I love looking pulled together while adding a bit of edge to everything I wear (a.k.a. channeling my inner off-duty model, or at least attempting to), hence this curated list full of basics that can go the distance. I can’t wait to share how I’d love incorporating them into fall outfits!

1. Sleeveless Chiffon Blouse from Hello sweety

This quality chiffon blouse is in line with the low-maintenance vibe I try to achieve. The crisp tailoring and sleek patch pockets keep the overall look dressy enough for the office. I’d style with pastel tapered pants to add a subtle hint of color.

2. Ribbed Crop Top with Frilled Hem from ERANZI

For me, the athleisure look is definitely for the weekend – being truly off-duty, comfortable and casual for morning errands and lazy brunches. This ribbed crop top fits perfectly and flaunts the midriff without pinching, and with a frilled hem that adds subtle femininity. It’s a great alternative to the white tees I would otherwise reach for!

3. Two-Tone Paneled Jeans from migunstyle

When denim shopping this fall, set your sights on a new pair that hugs you in all the right places. Ready to get out of your comfort zone? Opt for more daring details, like this fresh pair that combines two denim washes. This is one easy and fashion-forward look that doesn’t take me too far from my style realm.

4. Frayed Bootcut Jeans with Side Slits from FROMBEGINNING

Ditto for daring details in fall denim. I am embracing the flared jeans comeback with open arms. That being said, the silhouette can be risky, so experiment with this relatively low-key design first, which features side slits for a sexy touch. The relaxed fit is surprisingly flattering too.

5. Golden Embroidery Bomber Jacket from DANI LOVE

I am probably most comfortable with the laidback “downtown” trend, which is essentially my personal day-to-day style. For those chilly fall evenings the first cover-up I’d reach for is this light bomber jacket: versatile, comfy and slightly oversized without overwhelming my frame.

6. Floral Print Longline Coat from MAGJAY

The simple tank top + jeans + trainers look is only complete with the addition of a lightweight, effortless topper as the temps start dropping. This diaphanous longline “rope” jacket is a good example. I especially love the artistic florals festooned all over.

7. Neoprene Baseball Jacket from PIPPIN

Wearing a varsity jacket brings back happy memories from campus life. Just as versatile as your black leather jacket but of lower maintenance, this neoprene baby will pair well with cutoffs, dresses, playsuits – anything!

8. Heeled Chelsea Boots from MaSoeur

One of those shoe styles that works year round is a walkable, sturdy pair of black ankle boots. It is warmer than most other footwear and is thus very ideal for fall (Though pairing with rough cutoffs is one way to stay cool in a pair of booties). The rugged sole takes it from basic to edgy.

9. Beige Faux Suede Wedges from chuu

If there ever was a shoe style that elongates the leg, goes with everything off-duty and is great for walking, it’s nude wedges. The chunky heel and thick straps make this a great casual pair when I don’t know the dress code – or when there simply isn’t one.

10. Wool Fedora from GLAM12

I ain’t always a hat girl but a solid fedora changes my mind, especially for bad hair days. Its benefits go beyond just making you look cool (although it totally does) – it protects the face from harsh sunrays. It also pulls together the most basic of looks, taking me from running errands to brunch to wherever the day goes.
