In the hearts of many, Innisfree is one trustworthy brand. Though I haven’t had the chance to try many of Innisfree’s products, its Jeju Volcanic Pore Toner is already a crucial part of my summer skin routine, not to mention its bestselling No-Sebum Mineral Powder, Green Tea Seed Serum and Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. The brand’s Jeju Lava Seawater Line arrives just in time for summer with its stunning blue packaging and refreshing content. This time, I’m trying the Jeju Lava Seawater Cream.
Being “a rich-moisture gel cream formulated with ceramide and Jeju lava seawater that activates the skin’s hydration power for firmer and smoother skin,” the cream is situated at the final stage of the Jeju Lava Seawater Line’s skincare regimen. The packaging also states that it’s a cream for wrinkle care. The ingredient list includes seawater, ceramide capsules and botanical extracts alongside silicones, alcohol and fragrance.
First of all, I have to admit that I was totally attracted by its appearance. The entire Jeju Lava Seawater Line is packed in plastic gradated oceanic blue containers that denote moisture from the sea. Having the cream on my shelf already makes me feel soothed and refreshed!
The scent of the cream also gave me a good first impression – it smells like lemongrass, to be exact. I normally avoid scented skincare but I’m perfectly fine with this one. The cream itself is ultra-lightweight, with tiny ceramide capsules that melt once you touch them.
The aqueous cream glides on smoothly and absorbs instantly without any residue or sticky feeling. There is even a mild cooling sensation when you apply the cream to your face. All of these make it a perfect day cream for summer.
I used it day and night for 2 weeks, and decided to switch to using it during daytime only before I leave for work. It’s definitely not the most moisturizing cream, offering only medium hydration. It barely manages to keep my dry skin from flaking. My skin does look healthier plus feel smoother and a little more bouncy, though firming and wrinkle reduction effects are barely noticeable at this stage of my experiment. However, it has this pleasant feel on the skin that makes it stand out as a day cream. It would be nice to keep it in the office so you can freshen up whenever you feel tired, or as a moisturizer before applying makeup to help it stay put.
