I’m very much looking forward to upcoming summer travel plans, which means I’ll be packing for city adventures, road trips and the poolside. I don’t mean to be discouraging, but choosing what to wear is going to be a serious burden. I’m glad we already covered bohemian resort style, which will come in handy soon. A floral dress and the usual spring mix feel so vapid and done. It’s about time we toughen them up with unexpected accessories: Think hiking-inspired boots good for all-day walking, for instance. Swoon over that rugged and tough-luxe style that’ll also fit the bill for summer travel!

1. Off-Shoulder Sheath Dress from Yohana

The summery LWD and sandals are my first choices when it comes to the typical fuss-free summer look. But why not give it a street-chic edge with chunky boots? This fitted sheath dress is a good piece to pull off the trend, with a neat off-the-shoulder design that works for both casual and upscale moments.

2. Wedged Ankle Boots from JY Shoes

These minimalist, slick booties complete a nude-colored dress with so much edge. Even girlie girls can pull them off effortlessly. I love the wedged sole and pointed toe.

3. Dark Floral Sundress from Amella

Cool-girl florals are a thing. Cast in dark tones with a sultry wrap front, they look even cooler on this flowing midi. It will make an incredibly feminine look with nude pumps or black stilettos. Now, how about teaming with Danners-inspired booties for a gothic take?

4. Lace-Up Chunky Combat Boots from Colorful Shoes

These heeled combat boots simultaneously add interest and “harden” girly frocks, proving they’re not exclusive to tee and ripped denims. Try teaming them with your favorite sundresses to pull off the 90s cool-grunge effect!

5. Dotted Maxi Sundress from Quintess

A ditsy polka dot maxi dress fashioned with a full flare and effortless V-neckline – this look essentially works 90% of the time for any vacation. You can match it with flip-flops or sandals on the beach, and add a pair of Danners for a twist during city walks. Thoughts?

6. Block-Heel Loafers with Buckle Detail from Pretty in Boots

The neutral nude shade of this slick slip-on pair looks great with vibrant prints. My recent favorite “western meets bohemian” combo consists of a breezy dress sprinkled with ditsy florals plus a fuss-free pair of moto boots. It’s the easiest way to look like a rock star on summer vacation.

7. Strappy Swimsuit from chuu

If you still don’t have a new bathing suit, you should seriously consider going for this. Works with every occasion from breezy lunches, city walks (by tucking into appropriate bottoms) to afternoon jaunts on the water. Be sure to leave the flip-flops at home. Go for statement sandals or even chunky boots featured here.

8. Retro Sunnies from BAIMOMO

Aviator sunglasses are no doubt a classic essential and not just for boys! There are lots of fashion-friendly versions, like this wire-frame pair with unmistakable retro influences. It works with everything, and is most handy for brightening up a pair of cutoff shorts and a plain white tank.

9. Gladiator Sandals from FROMBEGINNING

Thong gladiator sandals may be a daunting trend for some, when in fact its tougher vibe can be leveraged to ground flirty outfits! I’d finish with my breeziest sundress for the perfect day look.

10. Nude Caged Heels from chuu

Caged heels – the same case as gladiator sandals – can intimidate many with their tough-girl edge. These stilettos are actually a smart complement to a basic black tee and boyfriend jeans, sending a loud cool-girl statement without overdoing it 🙂
