What’s first on our list? The Cure Natural Aqua Gel .

What is it and why is it so popular?
Cure Natural Aqua Gel comes from Japan and is actually an exfoliator. Unlike the usual scrubs in the market that do the same thing, Cure has no grains, particles or any visible bits that make it look like the typical facial scrub.

The packaging is simple and no fuss, with the bottle being clear enough so that you can see the gel inside. YesStyle carries the 250g bottle for US$40.

Cure is one of YesStyle’s consistent bestsellers. Most online reviews and beauty video blogs cite the following as reasons why they like it:

  • It’s made from 90% revitalized hydrogen water
  • It has no preservatives, fragrances, artificial coloring or alcohol that can irritate skin
  • It exfoliates gently, removing only the dead skin cells on the surface and minimizing irritation and sensitivity
  • It works with any facial regimen

I have combination skin and am prone to occasional breakouts so I’m very cautious about what I apply on my skin. Finding out that Cure was water-based and had no artificial colors or alcohol made me feel better about trying it.

Trying it
Following the instructions, I squeezed out a pea-sized amount of gel onto my finger and applied it on my dry cheek. After making only a few gentle, circular motions, I noticed the gel took effect immediately and saw little whitish bits appearing.

Step 1Step 2

I wanted to see how much skin could be exfoliated so I kept up the application for a few more minutes. There wasn’t a lot so I took that as a good sign that my face doesn’t have a lot of dead skin cells. Yay!

Step 3Step 4

The Verdict
I know not to expect overnight miracles so I made sure to use Cure twice a week, along with my regular facial skin-cleansing regimen, to see the end results after prolonged use. After almost four weeks of using it, I am happy to report that it didn’t interfere with the other skin care products I used! Even better, I also noticed some of my pimple scars had faded more noticeably.

The Cure Natural Aqua Gel can also be used to exfoliate the usually roughness-prone parts of your body such as your elbows, knees, the tops of your feet and even your armpits if you like. I tried it on my elbows a few times and it works just as well. As long as you use it sparingly and not everyday (you shouldn’t really exfoliate everyday), that one bottle will last you at least two to three months.
