The Corpse Bride [WWTW]

At some point in your life, you’ve probably been exposed to the work of Tim Burton, director of works such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach. I found myself watching The Corpse Bride late one night and fell in love with the poeticism of the film and thought it would be fun to do my next WWTW post on the Corpse Bride herself.
Named Emily, the Corpse Bride is an unfortunate lover whose heart was given to a con man who killed her for her dowry. Unable to rest in peace, she remained in the world of the undead, which Tim Burton envisions as a festive, colorful place (you’ll notice that this world of the undead is far more cheerful than the living world in the movie). Always donning a flowing yet tattered wedding dress, Emily’s charm and beauty comes from her affectionate and strong-willed personality. If you really like the skull motif, then Alexander McQueen is the route to go. I only included one of McQueen’s iconic skull clutch, but his skull rings, scarfs, and apparel are very well known.
Check out some of the finds I thought would match Emily’s style.
